Formats
What types of formats do you support?
Although our clients generally find it simpler to send their documents in Word or similar (.doc, .docx, .txt, .rtf, .wpd, .xls), we try to cater for all commonly-used formats. These include .pdf, .ppt, and most major DTP formats such as Illustrator, InDesign, Photoshop, QuarkXpress, etc.
Please note that working with formats other than document files can be more time-consuming and may incur a small surcharge. Please see our Rates page for more details.
How do I send you my documents?
We normally receive documents via email attachment. You may also fax us your material or post it in paper form.
Do you do movie subtitling?
We do not offer subtitling services. We are happy to translate text from any movie or video but can only return your work in an Office format.
Do you offer audio/CD/DVD transcription services?
We can translate from any audio or video source and return the translation in an Office format. Transcription work, however, is highly time-consuming and a surcharge would have to be discussed. Providing us with the accompanying text can greatly simplify this process. In this situation, we would charge our normal translation rates.
Pricing
How do you calculate your prices?
We charge per word of text received from you (‘source text’), except for certain services such as copywriting and transcription.
My text has many repetitions. Will I still pay according to the total word count?
While we charge per word, we use common sense and would not, for example, include recurrent paragraphs in our word count.
Is there a surcharge for urgent projects?
Unlike many agencies we do not charge an additional fee for urgent work..
Which currencies can I pay in?
Although we are based in London and Paris, we quote our price per word in Dollars as well as Pounds and Euros and will accept payment in all three currencies.
By which methods can I pay?
We accept payment by Bank Transfer, Cheque/Check or Paypal. All details will be included in our invoice.

Do you translate websites?
Yes, this is a major part of our service. Please see our dedicated page for more details.
Do you provide proofreading services?
Proofreading is included for free as part of our translation service. Additionally, we also offer general proofreading services. Please see our Copywriting section for more details.
Do you offer interpretation services?
We do not offer these services.
Do you translate books?
Yes, we do.
Do you translate technical documents?
We have translated many technical documents within our specialist sectors. Addtionally, and as long as the subject is not too obscure, we will happily research and tackle specialist areas which are new to us.
Do you translate legal documents?
While we can translate documents of a legal nature for established clients, we are not Legal Translators and as such do not provide certified translation services.
Do you translate medical/pharmaceutical documents or scientific texts?
We do not offer this service.
Do you translate financial documents?
While we are happy to translate general business documents or economics reports, certain highly specialized financial documents are beyond our scope. We will however gladly assist you in finding the right person for these types of assignments through our network of specialized colleagues.

Where are you based?
We are headquartered in Paris with secondary offices in London. Therefore, should you wish to, we would be delighted to meet you in either of these two cities.
How soon will I receive my translation?
Typically, we can complete a 4000-word document in 48 hours, depending on the format required and the complexity of the subject matter. Our working hours are very flexible and subject to our workload, we can operate round-the-clock on your project.
Do you employ other translators?
We are a small agency offering a dedicated and personal service and as such prefer to carry out all translations ourselves. Should our workload prevent this, we can rely on a network of skilled associates to assist us, but we personally oversee all work before returning it to you.
I have a text in English whose quality could be improved. Can you help me?
Yes, we provide a service usually referred to as Copy-Sharpening or Copy-Strengthening. We can work with you to turn your text into a dynamic, publication-ready document.
Will my data be kept confidential?
We guarantee total confidentiality in all our dealings with clients. Please refer to the relevant sections of our Privacy Policy and Terms & Conditions.
