The beauty of professional translation is that you never truly know what will be next. We believe we can tackle a vast range of subjects provided the project does not require, for example, a degree in civil engineering or a PhD in Astrophysics to understand it!
To use a personal example, a shipping company approached one of our co-founders a decade ago with a request to handle all their translation needs (English to French & French to English). They were dissatisfied with the translation agency they were using at the time – one of those large multilingual agencies with an endless turnover of outsourced translators – and were looking for an alternative.
After one satisfied client gave them a personal recommendation, they sent over the forthcoming edition of their newsletter for translation, along with some examples of previous translations and a detailed glossary of terms in use in the shipping industry. The company was pleased with the result of what was effectively a test translation, and so started a decade-long business relationship.
The essential point is that while the subject may vary, the quality of writing is always the first consideration. We are confident that we have the ability to adapt our skills to numerous situations.
